CHEVELLE: Tentative Album Title Revealed
May 21, 2009Drummer Sam Loeffler of CHEVELLE was interviewed by TuneLab.com at this past weekend's Rock On The Range festival, which was held in Columbus, Ohio. During the five-minute chat, which can be viewed below, Sam reveals that the new CHEVELLE album is tentatively titled "Sci-Fi Crimes" and will see an August release.
CHEVELLE recently debuted two brand new songs live on the band's current tour, with footage of the tunes, called "Letter From A Thief" and "Sleep Apnea", quickly surfacing on YouTube. Frontman Pete Loeffler told The Pulse of Radio that the trio wanted to take the tracks out for a test drive. "Those are possible singles that we were trying to bang out over these next six weeks, just to kind of get a vibe, like a real world feel for them," he said. "'Letter From A Thief' is sort of an old-school SMASHING PUMPKINS vibe rock song. 'Sleep Apnea' is sort of a, it's kind of a joke how when you're on tour you're always trying to catch up on your sleep. It's just a heavy rock song that I would love to hear on the radio."
CHEVELLE has spent time recording both at home in Chicago and at a studio in Nashville.
The new disc will follow up 2007's "Vena Sera".
